〜未知の楽園〜 "Unknown Paradise" (2025)

ウェブデザイナーをやっている親戚がアーティストとしての名刺を作ってくれることになり、そのお礼として制作した作品です。
お題は「海」でした。
なので、煌めく海の中に浮かぶ、まだ未知のカラフルな楽園を描きました。
I asked my relative who is a computer graphic designer to create my own name cards.
This artwork is to show my gratitude for her.
The theme she asked me for was "sea".
So, I drew a colorful unknown paradise under the sparkling sea.

〜巳のしめ飾り〜 "New Year's Decoration of Snake" (2025)

アクレアで描いた作品の2作目。毎年制作する干支の作品の一つです。2025年も去年の辰年に続き、飛躍の年にしたいです。蛇をしめ飾りの縄に見立てました。これまでコピックで描いていた時は物量の多い作品がほとんどでしたが、アクレアを用いた作品では足し算よりも引き算に挑戦します。自分なりに、よりアーティスティックな作品を生み出したいです。
This is the 2nd artwork drawn with Copic Acrea, which is one of the pieces of zodiac I draw every year. I want to make 2025 a great year. I drew the snake as a rope of rice straw. Most of my artworks are dense, but with Acrea, I'm going to try not to add elements but to draw less elements. I want to produce more artistic pieces in my own style.

〜虎之沖浪裏〜 "The Tiger Wave" (2024)

以前にコピックで描いた「富嶽三十六景 寅年沖浪裏」を新たな画材コピックアクレアでリメイクしました。出来る限り元の作品に忠実に描きながら、金色を用いて大自然の神々しさや力強さを表現しました。日本画風の作品でありながら、アクレア特有のマットでポップな質感と色合いで制作しました。
I remade the original piece "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji The Tiger Wave" ,which I drew with Copic using the new drawing materials "Copic Acrea". As I capture the original artwork, I used gold color to express magnificence and strength of the nature. It looks like a traditional Japanese drawing, but was drawn with matte texture and pop coloring which are particular to Copic Acrea.

"Always Listening in NYC" (2024)

音楽はもはや私たちの日常とは切り離せない存在ではないか。音楽のみならず、様々な音や声が世界中で飛び交っている。ならば、少しでもその音質が良くなれば我々の生活もその分彩りをもつだろう。そんな世界がここニューヨークで始まろうとしている。
Music can't be separated from us. Not only music, but also a lot of sound and voice are all around the globe. The better the quality of sound gets, the more colorful our lives become. Such a world is about to begin here in New York City.
音楽はもはや私たちの日常とは切り離せない存在ではないか。音楽のみならず、様々な音や声が世界中で飛び交っている。ならば、少しでもその音質が良くなれば我々の生活もその分彩りをもつだろう。そんな世界がここニューヨークで始まろうとしている。

〜死の爆縮〜 "Implosion of Death" (2024)

人が亡くなることを「息を引き取る」と言います。その言葉の通り、人は最期に息を吸い込んで亡くなる方が多いようです。
また、死ぬ瞬間に走馬灯を見るといいます。それは脳内の酸素量の低下によって引き起こされるそうです。そのような臨死体験は脳の覚醒による現象です。
死後に何があるのかは誰にも分かりません。生まれる前の状態、つまり「無」に帰すのか。その場合、現世からの供養や祈念は届いているのか。それとも、来世があって何かに生まれ変わるのか。来世は人か、他の動物か、虫か、また同じ自分か。
To pass away is sometimes said as "To breathe one's last". Apparently, when we die, most of us literally die drawing in a deep breath.
Also, in the moment of death, we see our whole lives flashing back. It is caused by the decrease of the level of oxygen in our brains. Arousal of our brains causes such near-death experiences.
Nobody knows if there is the world after death. Are we going to be taken back to the state of nothingness? In that case, are the memorial service and prayers reaching to the deceased? Or are we going to be reborn as something in the next world? In our next life, are we humans? other animals? insects? or the same us?

〜龍の如く〜 "Like a Dragon" (2024)

僕は辰年生まれなので、今年は年男です。生まれてから干支が2周したところです。今年度からいよいよ社会人。目標に向かって、昇龍の如く弛まず、自分に甘えずに頑張っていきます。
I was born in the Year of the Dragon, so this year is my year, according to the Chinese zodiac. This is my second time to have it. I'm going to be a working adult from this April. My New Year's resolution is to keep running towards my goals, like a rising dragon.
僕は辰年生まれなので、今年は年男です。生まれてから干支が2周したところです。今年度からいよいよ社会人。目標に向かって、昇龍の如く弛まず、自分に甘えずに頑張っていきます。

〜トモコレ跡地〜 "Abandoned Tomodachi Life" (2023)

この作品はトモダチコレクションDS(2009年発売)の島の廃れた姿を描いたものです。子ども時代に遊んだゲームも時を経るにつれて次々に新しいものに取って代わられていき、やがては遊ばれなくなります。当時楽しい時を過ごしたっきりほったらかしのゲームの中の世界は現在どうなっているのでしょうか。そんな作品の第一号目です。これからしばらくは「かつて遊んだゲームの世界のその後」を描いていきたいと思っています。

And they end up not being played. After you left the world of the video game since you played it last time, how does it look now? This is my very first piece which shows that view. このスティードのモデルは1994年に発売されました。私のスティードの初年度登録は1995年の大晦日。2021年の3月31日に納車したものです。今までこれに乗って色んな場所へ行きましたが、出来るだけ長く乗っていたい愛馬です。
The model of this Steed was released in 1994. Mine was first registered on December, 31st, 1995, and I had this delivered on March, 31st, 2021. Although I travelled to a lot of places by my Steed, I want to own it as long as possible.
このスティードのモデルは1994年に発売されました。私のスティードの初年度登録は1995年の大晦日。2021年の3月31日に納車したものです。今までこれに乗って色んな場所へ行きましたが、出来るだけ長く乗っていたい愛馬です。

〜ファストフード〜 "Fast Food" (2023)

この絵はアンディー・ウォーホルの作風に似せて描いたものです。彼についての論文を執筆する中でそのような絵を描いてみたいと思い立ちました。背景の紫色は、美味しそうに見えるファストフードに潜む毒性を表しています。
I imitated Andy Warhol's artwork. Since I've been writing an essay about him, I decided to draw
something like his. The purple background represents the toxicity of fast food that looks tasty.

〜生命の爆発〜 "Explosion of Humanity" (2023)

これは「人間の活動」や「多様性」などをテーマに制作した作品です。タイトルが「生命の爆発」であるように、生命の誕生を中心として放射状に様々な人間が命を爆発させ生きている様子を描きました。また、学生時代の集大成なので、過去に制作した色々な作品の構図を引用した箇所もあります。絵を本気で描き始めようと決意してから4年以上、現在使用しているコピックに出会ってから3年、約27作目の集大成です。
This is the piece I drew with the themes which are mainly "human activities" and "diversity of human". As I created the title "Explosion of Humanity", I drew all kinds of different individuals living their lives with the radial composition. Also, since this is the culmination in my student days, I referred to some compositions from several pieces for this artwork. It's been more than 4 years since I decided to commit myself to produce artworks, and it's been 3 years since I started to draw with COPIC. "Explosion of Humanity" is the culmination in my student days which is approximately the 27th artwork of mine.

〜ミレニアム〜 "Millennium" (2023)

2000年に生を受けてから23年が経った。色々な事を経験した。だが、それはまだ所詮この小さな色紙を埋められる程だ。これからこの絵がどんな色で、どれだけの大きさになっていくのだろうか。そしてそれはどこで止まるのか。そこに辿り着くまでの道筋や結末はもう決まっているのだろうか。これから先の人生でこの「色」をより豊かにしていきたい。
It has been 23 years since I was born in 2000. I have experienced a lot of things. However, those are so little that they can only fill in a tiny paper board. I wonder how broad this piece of art will grow from now on. And I also wonder where it will stop growing. Have my future path and ending been fixed yet? I want to make "these colours" more vivid in my life ahead.
2000年に生を受けてから23年が経った。色々な事を経験した。だが、それはまだ所詮この小さな色紙を埋められる程だ。これからこの絵がどんな色で、どれだけの大きさになっていくのだろうか。そしてそれはどこで止まるのか。そこに辿り着くまでの道筋や結末はもう決まっているのだろうか。これから先の人生でこの「色」をより豊かにしていきたい。

〜福々月夜見(卯年)〜 "Fortune by Moonlight" (2022)

2022年は稀にみる慌ただしい一年だった。アジア圏では未だ収まらないコロナ禍。ロシアがウクライナに侵攻し、戦争が勃発。安倍前首相の銃撃と、それが元に明らかになったカルト宗教と政治家の癒着。世界で最も長く続いたエリザベス女王の王位70周年と、そのわずか3ヶ月後の訃報。日本の芸能界でも訃報が相次いだ。
そんな慌ただしい一年を過ごせば、翌年の安寧を願わずにはいられない。250年以上続いた天下泰平の世、江戸時代に思いを馳せた。しかし、来年は勝負の年だ。先の見えない運命に一歩足を踏み出せばそこには何があるのか。来たる2023年の春夏秋冬の繁栄のために運気を練り上げ、運命の赴くままに。
2022 was the turbulent year. In Asia, the corona pandemic hasn't calmed yet. Russian army invaded Ukraine, and the tragic war broke out. Former Japanese prime minister, Shinzo Abe was shot to death, and this incident revealed the truth that there has been a collusion between a cult religion and many politicians. A platinum jubilee of Elizabeth II was greatly celebrated, but she passed away only about 3 months later. Lots of obituaries in Japanese show business have been reported one after another.
After spending such a turbulent year, I can't help wishing the next peaceful year. My thoughts went to Edo period, which the stable peacefulness lasted for over 250 years. However, 2023 must be a big year. Once I take a step into my vague fate, what will there be? For the prosperity of all four seasons in the coming year, let's knead as much fortune as possible, and try as my destiny goes.

〜荒廃せし世を見返る美人圖〜 "A Beauty Looking Back the Desolate World" (2022)

時は江戸時代。紅色の着物をまとった一人の美しい女性が町を歩いていた。天気は快晴。空は青く澄み渡っていて、遠くの富士山がよく見える。しかし、ふとした瞬間に嗅いだこともないような臭気とともに暗雲が立ち込めた。その時、女は雲や煙の中に何かを見た。
幾百年の時が流れ、時代は令和というらしい。街を見渡すと、変わった装いをした人々が神妙な面持ちで舗装された道を歩いている。皆が広い心で助け合うのが普通だと思っていたが、道行く人々は目を合わせず、少々自己中心的に見える。日本人自体はほぼ変わらないが、どこか色褪せた服を着ている。かつての閑静な面影は無く、目が眩むほどの電飾が瞳孔を貫き、騒々しい交通音が黒煙をあげて鼓膜を揺らす。所狭しと並べられた建造物が人々の息を詰まらせる。鉄に押しやられた自然は消えたようだ。私たちは自然と共生し、廃棄物を極力出さず、汚物でさえも再利用している。しかし、彼らは大量の既製品を消費して生活を営んでいる。それは食生活にまで及び、得体の知れないものを口に運んでいる。どこか力士のような体格の男がやけに多い。そして、各人が黒い板を持ち、何人かはそれを上に掲げては喜んでいる...
女はふと我に返り、辺りを見回した。動物たちが自由気ままに動き回り、遊んでいる子どもたちのころころとした笑い声が響いている。大人たちは陽気に声を交わし、ゆっくりと時間が流れている。先ほど見たものは何だったのか。色があるようで色の無い未来が現れたのか。あれが先進した未来だとしたら興味深い。用事を思い出した女は先を急いだ。
One day in Edo period, a beautiful woman wearing a red kimono was walking in a town. It was a bright cloudless day. The sky was so clear that she could see Mt. Fuji in the distance. However, all of a sudden, dark clouds and smoke appeared with the smell that she had never smelled. At that moment, the woman saw something in them.
Hundreds of years have passed, and apparently, I'm now in Reiwa period. Looking around me, people are walking on a paved street as they are wearing weird-looking clothes and solemn expressions on their faces. I think it is common that people generously help each other, but they seem to avoid making eye contact with each other, and they look self-centred. Japanese people themselves haven't changed a lot, but they are wearing sort of faded clothes. The place is not how it used to be anymore. The strong colourful lights penetrate my eyes, and the loud traffic noises belching black exhaust vibrate my eardrums. The city is crammed with buildings, and that makes people feel uncomfortable. The nature appears to be pushed away by artificial objects. We have lived together with nature trying to produce less waste and reuse even animal droppings. However, people in Reiwa period are consuming loads and loads of made-up articles to live. They are eating something mysterious. There are somehow many pedestrians who look like sumo wrestlers. Also, every one of them are holding pieces of black board, and some look happy holding them up...
The woman suddenly snapped back to reality and looked around. The animals are freely moving around, and the cackle of the children playing is coming into my ears. The adults are having lively conversations, and the time is just passing slowly. "What were the things that I have just seen? Has the colourful but colourless future emerged ? If that was the truth in the future, it would be interesting." The woman suddenly remembered where she was heading to, and she rushed to the site.

〜リトルボーイ〜 "Little Boy" (2022)

この惑星では、何十億年も前から生命が繁栄してきた。地球という狭い枠の中でさえ極彩色の生態系は複雑に絡み合い、一種一種の生物がそれぞれ異なる役割、色を持ち、命を燃やしている。一瞬一瞬に生死を懸けながら食物連鎖の美しい調和を生み出している。

In the blink of an eye, Homo sapiens has appeared. Starting with the birth of civilisation, the population has explosively increased. Humans have used their brains which are uniquely bigger than other animal species and have tried to acquire as more roles as possible. They have greedily sought for more and more "colours", and as a result that all those have been mixed up, humans have turned complete black. The conveniences required in such a narrow human society have become the black fume together with the explosion of vitality as human beings, and are about to cover the magnificent earth. It might not be so distant future that the entire planet will completely be covered. The black warheads covered with greediness that explodes are falling all over the planet. The name is "Little Boy".

From the perspectives of the natural habitat, they might be just strange creatures with full of disabilities, but apparently, they are quite popular in the human society. They have been produced mechanically in the places like factories and been spread all over the market. Those weird looking animals are exposed in the eyes of the public as if they are the obedient animals in the circus and are classified. Their appearances which fully depend on a personal liking judge the animals' destiny. The ones with good looks will be able to look and hope in the future, but the ones not will go straight to hell. The fat slaves having fake smile take the opportunity and sell off the creatures. How hideous the colours of skin of those who crowd together around the animal in such a dark conservative world are. They have no way to know the former factories. Something has just flashed through the innocent and stone-faced animal's mind... Apparently, the world that these things are carried out exist. The sky above it has been darker and suspicious. Which are the true weird looking creatures?

幼少期、何にでも興味を持ち、本能的に毎日を遊んだ。何事も遊びに変えた。大人の助けなしでは生きられない純粋で無垢な生命体だった。両親に連れられて大きな現実世界へ行った遠い記憶。絵本の中には幻想的な世界が広がり、ブラウン管の奥では正義の味方が世界の平和を守っていた。大人たちは目もくれない身の回りの虫でさえ良き遊び相手であり、友だった。分厚い図鑑を開いては、遥か宇宙の彼方や何億年も前の地球に思いを馳せた。床には独自の世界が広がり、古代と現代が錯綜していた。無人のスポーツカーが縦横無尽に走り回り、恐竜があちこちを闊歩していた。手の内の画面に飛び込めば、赤い帽子のおじさんがどこまでも手を引いて案内してくれる世界があった。
それがなんだ。いつからか規則や既成概念に囚われた大人が無理矢理に強烈にひん曲がった社会へ引き摺り込んだ。機械的に知識が搬入され、頭脳の管理が始まった。年を経るごとに脳幹が弱っていった。
成人して間も無く、幼少の頃とは正反対の世界が心を侵食していく。聞き苦しいAIの号令に叩き起こされて朝が始まる。車の騒音とともに個性を黒く塗り固められた人々は集う。住宅で埋め尽くされた山肌を抜ければ、灰色の、湿っているが乾燥した、ジャングルへと青い芋虫は進む。それのお陰で世界は狭く近くなったが、人々の足取りは重い。自分の保身のために、赤べこと羊を足した「赤羊」と化した人間は受動的だ。権力者が頼んだものに従い、決まったものを提供する。多忙を極めた一日を終え出入り口へ戻るなり、電飾輝く食堂の安価な人工物を豚のごとく貪り食う。唯一僅かにヒトらしく過ごせる休暇は百年の人生のほんの一部を占めるに過ぎない。
写真に写る景色はモノクロからカラーへと移り変わったが妙だ。我々のほとんどの目に映る景色は逆行している。何がインとヨウを隔てるのか。それは黒く、根深く、長いものだ。
In my childhood, I was interested in everything around me, and my instinct told me to play every day. I was just a pure and innocent organism which cannot live without adults' help. When I was little, my parents took me to magnificent worlds. Fantastic worlds spread in my picture books. Behind the screen of a CRT television, super heroes were saving the peaceful world. Even the tiny insects that adults would never care about were good playmates. Opening a thick illustrated book, my thoughts went beyond the universe or to the earth hundreds million years ago. I had my own world on the floor which was a mixture of the ancient and the modern world. Driverless cars ran around, and dinosaurs walked back and forth. Once I jumped into the screens in my hands, an uncle with a red cap guided me to exciting worlds.
All of a sudden, old men who are slaves of rules and stereotypes forcibly dragged me and other children at the same age as me into a terribly twisted society. They mechanically carried knowledge into our brains. Control of brain began. As time went by, our brain stems were weakened.
Soon after we legally became adults, the world which is completely opposite from the one in our childhood has been eroding us. Every morning begins with a harsh-sounding command by AI. People who their individualities have been painted in black get together with noises from the cars. As a blue caterpillar goes through the surface of mountains covered with houses, it crawls towards the damp but dry gray jungle. Although the world has been narrow and close because of the caterpillar, passengers are heavy-footed. Those who turned into red sheep which is a half-breed between Akabeko (Japanese souvenir in a shape of a red cow which its neck is hung by a string so it nods) and a sheep are passive. They follow what a person in authority asked for and provide things with fixed contents. After people finished an extremely busy day, they go back to where they came from and greedily eat cheep artificial products that convenience stores sell like pigs. Their vacation that they can only spend slightly better as humans occupies just a small part of a life which could last for a hundred years.
The view in photographs changed from monochrome to colour, but something strange has been happening. The view most of us see has been going backwards. What separates between yin and yang? That is something black, long and deep-rooted.

そこで俺は気分転換に現実逃避をしながら考えることにした。煙草の煙に自分の夢、天国を思い浮かべながら。
We could live in the hell. Most people can't even live unless they work like slaves and earn money. We solve problems, but another issue comes up soon. We're controlled by many rules and have to stand stress. There are people who cannot endure bitter words and commit suicide. Some people discriminate minority. Women sometimes need to be subordinate to men to live. Teens often talk by texting and have already forgotten their tradition. It is impposible to be heaven.
One day, I decided to think about something as I was smoking to escape reality. I wonder what my heaven looks like.
